This is a Civil Press edition of Arthur Leydin's 50c St James stamp, one of his architecture series released in 1973. The church is the oldest standing church in Sydney, being built in 1824, designed by Francis Greenway.
Leydin's stamp boldly combines colourful geometry over Greenway's detail. A post mark reflects the stamp's usage prior to entry into Civil Press's collection.
